Getting Started

Dumpit is a film camera and photo sharing app for iOS. You can shoot photos with vintage film looks applied live, create event albums, share a QR code with your crew, and have everyone's shots land in one shared album — all in real time.

No account needed to join an event. Scan the QR code, pick a display name, and start shooting immediately as a guest. You'll need to sign in with Apple to create your own event albums or save your film presets.

Dumpit uses Sign in with Apple only — no email/password required. Tap "Continue with Apple" and you're in. Your session is stored securely and you stay signed in between app opens.

Dumpit is currently iOS only. Android support may come in a future update. Join the waitlist and we'll notify you when your platform is supported.

Camera & Film Presets

There are 24 total camera presets: 5 free (Normal, Natural, Kodak Gold, Disposable, Mini Snap) and 19 Pro (Golden Hour, Fuji 400H, Polaroid 600, Contax T2, Ricoh GR, and more). You can preview all cameras before unlocking — the paywall only triggers when you try to save.

Accessories are layered effects on top of your film preset — Fisheye, ND Filter, Grainy, Prism, Anamorphic, Color Gel, Vignette, Light Leak, and Motion Blur. All 9 accessories are free for everyone.

Copy Look lets you match any photo aesthetic you find on Instagram, Pinterest, or your camera roll. Share the photo into Dumpit and our AI (GPT-4o Vision) analyzes the film look — color grade, grain, fade, halation — and applies it live to your camera. Free users get 3 uses; Pro users get unlimited. You can save custom results as named presets.

Yes. Tap the gallery import button on the camera screen to select any photo from your device. Film presets and accessories apply the same way as live captures. You can also share photos into Dumpit from other apps (like Photos or Safari) via the iOS Share Sheet.

Event Albums

Creating albums requires a Dumpit Pro subscription (or your 1 free album on the free tier). Tap the Albums tab → Create Album, fill in the name, dates, and choose Live or Hidden reveal mode. Your QR code is generated instantly — share it in your group chat or show it IRL.

Share your event QR code. Anyone with Dumpit installed can scan it and join instantly. If they don't have the app, the QR code will redirect them to the App Store. After installing, they scan the QR again (or enter the invite code on the Join screen) to join your album as a guest.

In Live mode, every photo appears in the album grid the moment it's uploaded — everyone sees shots roll in as they're taken. In Hidden mode, photos are stored but hidden from all members (even you) until the album owner taps "Reveal." Great for building suspense at events.

Free accounts can upload up to 50 photos per album. Dumpit Pro removes this limit entirely. All members of the album contribute to the count.

Album owners can batch-download all photos from the album detail screen. Members can download individual photos by long-pressing them.

Guest Mode

Your photos are stored under a device-generated guest ID. They remain accessible in the album as long as the album is active. However, guest photos expire 30 days after the event ends if you haven't created an account. We'll send a push notification 3 days before expiry to remind you to sign up and save your shots.

Yes. When you sign in with Apple after being a guest, your guest ID is automatically linked to your new account. Your photos, display name, and album membership are all retained.
